Scrappy Applique Program

Participants attending this program will be inspired to play with color and fabric in this interactive program and trunk show. Come learn about Shannon Brinkley's Scrappy Applique Method and be inspired to use these techniques in your own projects. Deb will include a trunk show of her own Scrappy Applique quilts and share examples from other quilters to give you lots of ideas! You will learn the technique from beginning to end!

The Scrappy Applique Program is available in person or online via Zoom for guilds, quilt shops, and individuals just wanting to learn more.

Deb Atchison, is an experienced educator, and quilter that enjoys leading participants through the process of creating beautiful works of art with fabric! Teaching is Debra's lifelong career and quilting is her passion. Combining them both...her dream job!

Several years back when Deb was searching online for a map quilt pattern to make for her husband’s birthday she stumbled onto Shannon Brinkley’s work called Scrappy Applique! She saw her map and globe quilts and immediately fell in love! Deb learned this process from Shannon and has been hooked on it ever since. In the photo to the left, Deb used a real map as her pattern and added in prints of fabric that were special to the places where she and her husband lived and traveled together. Needless to say, her husband fell in love with the quilt! When she gave it to him, he just sat for a long time looking at each continent, admiring the workmanship with the largest smile on his face. As a lover of gift-giving…..it was the best present she could have received in return for all her handiwork! Since then, Deb has become a Scrappy Applique Certified Teacher and loves helping others create their own beautiful works of art!

Scrappy Applique Workshop

Participants, from both beginners to experienced quilters that attending this workshop will learn how to take fabric scraps and turn them into gorgeous aplliqued pieces using Shannon Brinkley's signature Scrappy Applique technique. Each project will be a unique expression of the quilter's creativity. Participants will choose their favorite pattern (available for purchase online or during the workshop) and learn this technique step-by-step. Kits of supplies will also be available online or during the face-to-face workshops.

The Scrappy Applique workshop is available in person or online via Zoom for guilds, quilt shops, and individuals just wanting to learn to make beautiful quilts. the workshop is offered as a 1 or 2-day workshop. Workshops are the perfect next step after the program.
